MashaAllah Jamia Masjid Bilal have decided to form a naat council (islamic poetry in praise of Allah and his beloved Messenger) to overlook the development of the beautiful voices of Wolverhampton.
Please attend every Thursday after Maghrib (times may vary depending on time of year “usually about 7.30pm”) as there shall be a programme held by the Naat Council, if you are interested in training your voice or becoming a local Naat Khwan (Poetic Vocalist) then you are highly encouraged to attend inshaAllah.
Please note this is not only for those who speak urdu, We also will be reading Arabic Nasheeds and English Poems for those who prefer other languages.
This formation will be a team of our local naat khwans who will assist and invite others to develop there vocal capabilities and learn new words of poetry to praise Allah (glorified and exalted be He), His Messenger and All those who walked in this way. It is a known fact for both listener and reciter that naat’s and nasheeds increase the love for Allah, and His Rasool (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) sallalahu alayhi wasalam. The results of the council shall inshaAllah be presented in the many forthcoming gatherings and events, and will aid in uplifting the love for our beautiful deen in the masjid.
Naats and Poetry were recited in time of our beloved and noble prophet Muhammad salallahu alayhi wasalam on a regular basis, many sahabas were actively involved in recitations of poetry and showed their love for the best of creation. Rasoolullah sallalahu alayhi wasalam Himself listened to such poetic words and often gifted the reciters which showed that this practice is highly beneficial to show our love and respect.
Should you wish to get involved, learn a few naats or qasidahs, open up your vocal chords or perhaps go even further and take the platform of reciting naats infront of an audience then you are welcomed to express your interest. This is a unique and very exciting opportunity so dont be shy and put your name forward inshaAllah
May Allah Bless You All and fill your hearts with Love.
